Amazing charity effort by Melin staff
The numbers are in! Staff at Melin Homes raised almost £10,000 for 8 different charities by walking up to 29 miles over the Brecon Beacons in the recent Trekfest event.

The numbers are in! Staff at Melin Homes raised almost £10,000 for 8 different charities by walking up to 29 miles over the Brecon Beacons in the recent Trekfest event.
David Bolton, Ffion Brown, Josh Caulton, Morgan Goff, Louise Kingdon and Susie Kingdon walked 29 miles each and raised an impressive £5,300 for Unicef. Brian Taylor, Ceri Jones, Kylie Griffin, Lisa Rees, Rhys Jones, Rob Stopgate, Sarah Hughes and Tony Hulston raised £1200 for St David’s Hospice. Alzheimer’s Research benefited from £606.25 thanks to Karen Jones and Ian Hall. Mandy Price and Nicola Maule raised £700 for the MS Society by walking 13 miles over the mountains. Bev Jones raised £126 for the British Lung Foundation by walking 29 miles. Also benefitting was The Dogs Trust as Teri Ireland raised £255, Rose Matthews raised £286 for Birmingham’s Queen’s Hospital and Julie Williams raised £163 for Ty Hafan. Staff also contributed £2,000, which they raised just to take part in the challenge.
Melin Homes Deputy Chief Executive Peter Crockett said: “We are really proud of our staff who always go the extra mile. This is a fantastic achievement and no doubt, well worth the blisters and tired muscles.”
