To celebrate the progression of the site and the show home, Candleston Homes welcomed Melin Homes, Monmouthshire Council, local Councillors, contractors Jehu, Asbri Planning, Hammond Architectural and the first residents to reserve a home; Lorraine and Giles Prosser.
Speaking about their new home the couple said;
‘We have watched with interest since hearing about Candleston’s first development. It is the perfect location for us being a five-minute walk to town, station and countryside. The houses have been designed with character and we are excited watching everything take shape. We are very much looking forward to moving into our new home this summer.’
Local Councillor Maureen Powell who opened the tour of the site saying;
“Abergavenny is desperately in need of additional housing and it is marvellous to see the new homes being built. Coed Glas is a very welcome development, giving people a chance to have a new home. Developments like these help people onto the property ladder and allow people to stay where they grew up.”
Coed Glas has recently been named Clos Y Pinwydd by the local Council, who approved planning for the site in 2016.
Monmouthshire County Council said;
“We’re delighted to have worked in partnership with Candleston Homes. It was a true team approach involving Candleston, the Council’s Planning Committee and officers from across the Council. The quality of the development is evidenced by the speed of sales and satisfaction of the first home owners. We look forward to working with Candleston on their next projects, which are already in progress.”
Paula Kennedy, Chief Executive of Melin Homes
“We are very proud of our first Candleston development, and the lasting partnerships we have made. Meeting Lorraine and Giles highlights how important new developments like this are to local people, and the community. We look forward to meeting the other residents as they move in.”
The Coed Glas show home is open 10.30 am to 5 pm except Tuesday and Wednesday.
