We have the scores on the doors for our fundraising efforts on #GoGreenDay in support of Size of Wales.
Size of Wales created Go Green Day to raise awareness of the very real issue of climate change.
All £267 raised will help protect 2 million hectares of tropical rainforest and will be match funded by the charity, that’s a massive £534!
Staff as always fully supported the fundraising on the day, dressing in green, receiving green ‘Wales’ tattoos, and holding a huge raffle with over 15 prizes donated by contractors and partners.
By far the best fundraising activity was 'Claim your piece of Wales’. We had a giant map of Wales, with staff paying £1 to claim a place which meant something special to them. Apart from fundraising the activity brought out the passion and pride staff held for Wales. We got to learn about where people grew up, holidayed with family and made precious memories.
A selection of staff attended the launch of Go Green Day at Cardiff’s Principality stadium including our very green mascot ‘Melvin’. Melvin proved a massive hit with all attendees and even had a queue at one point for selfies!
We are already looking forward to thinking of new fundraising ideas for next years’ Go Green Day. You can still support Size of Wales, visit their website for more details. Climate change is everybody’s responsibility.
