Emma Johnson
Emma Johnson from Magor was nominated by her next-door neighbour Lynette. Emma helped Lynette while she was recovering from an operation on her foot, checking in to see if she needed anything while she recovered.
Emma is passionate about caring for her neighbours and when we went to visit her to present her with the award, she was busy checking on an elderly neighbour who had suffered a fall. A fantastic example of community spirit.
As part of her reward for being nominated for a Community Diolch, Emma will have a tree planted for her by our friends at Stump Up for Trees.
Jane Reynolds
Jane from Abergavenny was nominated for the award by her neighbour Brian Nycholls. Brian had been unwell for some time and had to undergo hospital treatment. Jane went above and beyond to make sure he was okay when he came out, doing his shopping for him when he was unable to and helping him carry it home once he'd recovered a bit. Jane is always making sure Brian pops in for a cup of tea when he passes, to make sure Brian eats and drinks plenty.
Jane loves keeping busy and volunteers in Abergavenny’s British Heart Foundation shop. In her spare time, she is an avid puzzler and loves the challenge of working on 1,000 piece jigsaws.
