Hollie and her mum, Mel are over whelmed by the support from the general public, and the offers of help and assistance keep coming in.
We are delighted to announce that Hollie’s 10th Universal Credit claim went live on 12th October, she will receive an advance payment, and her first pay date will be in November. This couldn’t have been achieved without the support of her money advisor Bethan, but more importantly you, and your amazing reaction and social media frenzy! This shows that together we are stronger, and the powers that be will listen to a united voice!
Hollie would like to try and piece her life back together and has asked for any media enquiries to come through Melin Homes Communication team.
We will keep you up to date with Hollie and her story, and look forward to sharing happier times that are now possible thanks to you.
Hollie’s story has inspired us to set up Melin Connect Fund, a donation page to help those in a poverty crisis.
Unfortunately Hollie’s story isn’t a one off, many residents face a crisis of deprivation and poverty. We want to channel all the offers of help for Hollie and other residents just like her into our Connect Fund.
We have set up a You Caring page for everyone who has asked us how they can help.
This fund will benefit not only Hollie, but all Melin residents who are in a similar situation.
You can donate in the safety that 100% of your money will go to Melin residents in need.
We will provide updates of where the money is being spent, if you would like to be kept up to date email us.
If you would like to donate anything other than money please contact Trac 2, a charity who support members of the public in and around Torfaen. Simply visit their website here.
Thank you for your support.
