Having recently redeveloped our sheltered housing scheme in Pill we were thrilled to be able to help the local primary school with an exciting project from LEGO Education and GETECH.

St Michael’s Primary is right next to Tredegar Court and therefore a large part of our community, so when the teachers approached us for help funding an engaging and fun way to teach and learn coding, we were happy to help. The students had a great time using LEGO to learn.

Interactive and fun way to teach and learn

Kathy Price St Michael’s RC Primary School said: “Ben and Jason were fantastic at facilitating each step of the day. The assembly was very interactive and exciting. This hooked the children to the idea of LEGO. The Year 1 staff were really surprised at how well the children coped with the lesson and gave them some confidence moving forward with it.”

The students at St Michael’s could be future residents, employees or key people in Melin or our partner organisations, so helping them achieve their potential and feel positive about Melin now, is an investment for the housing association as much as it is for their community.
