The young players at Newport Schools under 11s benefited from £250 from our community pot Jump 2 to help them compete in the Anglo Welsh Cup 20/21.
The money meant the club could buy the specific goal posts needed to help in their training and matches and none of the cost of those goals were passed onto the players and their families.
Deputy Chief Executive of Melin Homes presented the cheque and said: “Sport is so important, not only does it give these youngsters the chance to develop their soccer skills, but also to meet other youngsters and stay active. We were thrilled to be able to support them and will be watching their progress closely and cheering them on throughout the Anglo Welsh Cup tournament.”
