Family fun in the sun and rain!

What a fantastic day taking our Zest health and wellbeing initiative out into the community for our seventh annual ‘Zest in the Park’ event. Despite the showers and occasional windy weather, the sun finally made an appearance and so did hundreds of families, going by the smiles and laughter we can by 100% sure fun was had by all.

Visitors were able to sample massages, free fruit, free goodies, balloons and more. Entertainment was provided by a petting farm, bouncy castle fun, circus skills, face painting, rugby and football fun, competitions and photo opportunities with Spytty the dog, Mickey & Minnie Mouse and Bluey & Bingo.

It can be so hard entertaining the kids during the six-week holiday and very expensive. It is lovely to see that Melin Homes supports the community with a free family fun day. My gang have had a blast, and even tried some of the free fruit. We can’t wait for next year.

Events like these would not be possible without the support of our partners; County in the Community and Dragons Rugby. Special thanks to; Dr Bob, Party Magic events, The Mobile Farm, Petrena, A1 Jump and Bounce, Dr Bike, Torfaen Family Information Service, and our face painters provided through Masquerade who supported the day.

"We were so disappointed to have to cancel last year’s event due to the torrential rain…but we were thrilled to be back this year and it just gets bigger and better every year. At Melin our whole ethos is to support communities and create opportunities for people to thrive, it is at the heart of everything we do. That is why running events like this in the communities we serve is so important to us."

A huge thank you to all the partner organisations who made the event possible and a huge success, and an even bigger thank you to our staff – they really know how to deliver an event, they are simply the best!
