Over 700 people rushed to Pontypool Park for our fifth party in the park with a healthy twist!
Zest in the Park featured several stalls from us, as well as Torfaen Leisure Trust, Legacy Gym, Squash Wales, a climbing wall, bouncy castle and face painting.
Green Meadow Community Farm brought along a number of animals for a meet-and-greet while Cycle Training Wales ensured visitors’ bikes were in tip-top condition with a free service.
Sharon Crockett, Director of Innovation and Culture said, “Each year the event has grown, and this year has been the best so far. We linked the event with National Play day and use our mascot Oren to advertise leading up to the event. It is so important to inspire the local community to become fitter and healthier. I think we have found the perfect recipe! Next year will be bigger and better, make sure you keep an eye out for the date in August 2020."
Visitors were able to sample massage, free fruit, some free goodies and balloons. With the sun finally even making an appearance the day has been the perfect way to spend quality family time in the summer holidays.
Claire who attended the event with her children said; “The event is excellent, lovely to see the children enjoying themselves. Melin are fab."
We can't wait for next year. Keep an eye out for the date in the 2020 summer holidays!
